The Vault
Why: everything the contests spend comes from one account. This is what goes in, what comes out, and in which order.
One Vault
The Vault is a single program-owned account holding $CROWD. It is shown on the site in $CROWD with dollars next to it.
What goes in
- 1.2 % of every clan trade, at collection.
- The owner share of abandoned clans and of unclaimed clans built for someone else.
- Beef amounts above the 5 % cap of the winner's coin.
- Places of the day that went unfilled (they simply stay).
Nobody tops it up. The team does not seed it.
What comes out, and in which order
At every finish (first slot after 00:00 UTC) the program runs one sequence:
- Collect the fees of Arena clans.
- Ladder steps reached during the day — executed first.
- Three places of the daily contest: the budget is whatever is left, split 50 / 30 / 20 %, each place capped at 5 % of the money in that coin.
- The Debut, from what is left after the places — unfilled places are not part of it; they stay for tomorrow.
- The cap. After the buybacks the Vault may hold at most what it received over the last 3 days; anything above is burned as $CROWD in the same finish. The cap applies from the 4th day after launch.
Everything that leaves the Vault is a buyback-and-burn of a registered coin, executed in chunks over the next 24 hours (see Buybacks and burns), or the burn of $CROWD above the cap.
What the program checks and what it doesn't
The program checks that the Vault spends only by buyback-and-burn of a registered coin or by burning $CROWD above the cap, that each place stays within its cap, and that there is one finish a day. It does not check who the three places go to — that is the indexer's computation (see Scoring).
With fewer than 3 clans on the Arena there is no contest that day; the Ladder and the Debut still run.
